It looks like the Nvidia Shield Portable gaming console is about to get a replacement. The likely successor of the device appeared in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi certification filings.
The model number of the Nvidia Shield Portable suggests that it might pack the monstrous Tegra X1 chipset. The latter already made its debut in the Nvidia Shield Android TV console.
The upcoming device’s Wi-Fi certification points that it will boot Android Lollipop. There is no word on the specifications of Nvidia Shield Portable just yet.
An incoming successor of the Nvidia Shield Portable should hardly catch anyone by surprise. The gadget was unveiled during CES 2013 more than two years ago, so it is surely due for a replacement.
