A few years ago we did try out the Segway scooter that was brought into
India by Bird Motors. In 2015 a variation of the device is available
known as the Swegway or Hoverboard. These are basically electric boards
that have two wheels attached to the sides, which carry humans from one
point to the other. Most of these Hoverboards charge from 0-100% in 1.5
hours and give a battery backup of 6 hours. This does seem less, but one
can use it for short excursions or to points where the users can charge
it again.
This interesting infographic is made by Swegwayworld.com, which points out couple of other interesting facts about this neat little device. One that immediately caught the eye is that the hoverboard was made popular in the summer of 2015 by western youth icons Justin Bieber and Kendall Jenner.
The maximum speed one can attain on this transportation device is 7MPH that is roughly 11.2 Km per hour. These boards are available in India around 50K, but in the international markets they can be picked up for as low as Rs 30,000. Check out the rest in the infographic below.
