The invite system for OnePlus 2 has resulted in many a buyer not being
able to get their hands on the device. For such buyers, OnePlus is
hosting a two-day open sale in India for the smartphone.
On its blog, OnePlus said that the smartphone will be available invite-free starting 12am on November 25. The sale will end on 11.59am on November 27.
Buyers will need to head to Amazon.in, the exclusive seller of OnePlus 2 in India, to book the units.
The company held an open sale for OnePlus 2, which is priced at Rs 24,999, in October as well.
OnePlus 2 features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920x1080p) IPS LCD In-Cell display that the company says is brighter than that of last year's model. Below the display is hardware button that houses a fingerprint scanner and can save up to five fingerprints.
The smartphone runs on OxygenOS, based on the latest Android version Lollipop 5.1. It is the first device to ship with OnePlus' own operating system out of the box. This dual-sim smartphone is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, which is the fastest processor on the market right now. It sports a 13MP rear camera with a 1.3-micron sensor, laser autofocus, dual-LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, and Optical Image Stabilization system; on the front is a 5MP selfie camera.
OnePlus 2 packs a 3,300mAh that is approximately 10% bigger than the 3,100mAh battery of the original model. On the connectivity front, it supports 4G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and A-GPS. Other than the company's classic Sandstone Black back cover, OnePlus 2 will also have option of StyleSwap covers namely, Bamboo, Black Apricot, Rosewood and Kevlar.
It is the world's first smartphone with a reversible USB Type-C connector. The highlight of the USB Type-C cable is that it's backwards compatible, so users don't need to check which side of the connector is up while inserting it, much like with Apple's Lightning connector. The Type-C port on the OnePlus 2 could allow file transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps and allows the smartphone to charge faster.
