Twitter
has launched a new app called Engage. Intended to be a companion app to Twitter's official
app
, Engage enables celebrities, video creators and other popular public
figures to connect with their fans and influence in a better way.
The app provides real-time data and insights that help celebrities to understand, grow and engage with their followers. Twitter says that Engage can analyze and outline account performance and share important stats like retweets, video views and mentions. It can also filter them using different time periods.
Along with this, the app also can also profile audience demographics and real time feed of what their followers are tweeting about. It will also let users review videos, GIFs, images and other Twitter activity, thus enabling them to efficiently track post-by-post performance.
Engage app is presently available only for iOS users in the US. Also, there is no word about the global availability of the app and whether it'll be coming to Android and other platforms or not.
Twitter recently revealed that it will now allow users to post longer videos of up to 140 seconds duration. The microblogging network also said that some publishers would also be able to create videos as long as 10 minutes.
Twitter previously restricted videos to a maximum of 30 seconds in length. The new 140-second limit also applies to Twitter's video streaming app Vine, which previously had a six-second limit.
Along with this, the company acquired London-based Magic Pony Technology, a machine-learning startup that specializes in working with images to deliver better video and picture content to users.
