Xiaomi Mi Band 2 gets listed online before official launch

Last month, Xiaomi CEO Jun Lei reportedly confirmed that the upcoming Mi Band 2 will officially go on sale on June 7. However, the yet to be launched band has gone on pre-sale on a Chinese e-commerce website.

Listed on the website called TinyDeal, the Mi Band 2 is priced at $49.65 and will start shipping after July 26. The listing also shows the wearable's India price as Rs 3,053. Also mentioned is the inclusion of a LCD touch screen and a heart rate monitor in the specifications. The black coloured band seems to have a capsule-shaped display with a button on top. It sports a rubber strap as well, same as that of the Mi Band 1s.

As reported previously, the Mi Band 2 will likely be able to display information such as time, date, step count, heart rate and calorie count, in addition to notifications for calls and messages. Following the first generation model, the Mi Band 2 would allow users to unlock their smartphones remotely. Also, it would be interesting to see if Xiaomi adds support for music and call control in the Mi Band 2

Recently, Xiaomi launched a new health-tracking device called iHealth Box. It basically measures body vitals like blood pressure and heart beat, and connects to the phone via Wi-Fi. The device has a 4.3-inch colour screen and costs CNY 399 or about Rs 4,000.

There is no official word as to whether the iHealth box will be launched in India or not.
